We visited Caesarea, which is where Paul was imprisoned for two years and gave his powerful testimony in Acts 24-26.

We walked through a hippodrome, which would have been used for chariot races then, after the Great Revolt, Gladiator games.

Herod had a palace with a pool built, which these are the remnants of!

We visited Megiddo, which is where the word Armageddon comes from. In this valley is where it is believed that some serious stuff, of Biblical proportions, is going to go down.

We descended into a tunnel, built for the similar purpose of Hezekiah’s Tunnel. Thankfully, we didn’t have to tread through water to get through this one.


Something that I thought was super interesting was that these palm trees aren’t native to the area nor were they planted.

The way the story goes is that when the volunteers were working the excavation, they were eating dates and throwing the pits when they had finished eating. Well, a good bit of them seemed to take!
