This week wasn’t as packed with unusual or remarkable things (though there is still a lot on the schedule!), but there were one or two worth sharing!
Monday was a day off for me, filled with so much fun. I took no photo evidence though, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
A group from the neighborhood started playing volleyball at 10:30a, which I thoroughly enjoyed! It’s been such a great way to meet other people involved in the community!
After a couple hours of games, we headed over to the pool to cool off. After a couple hours there, a few of us went to get ice cream. Talk about the perfect summer day, right?
Several times throughout my time here, I’d been told about this great crepe place. I finally had enough and determined that we needed to go. So, Saturday, my roommates and Tatiana got dressed up and went!

I had a great mix of sweet and savory with a traditional breakfast and a crepe called Vuitton, stuffed with a cheesecake and blueberry mascarpone drizzled with honey.

The conversations were rich, laughter was frequent, and the time one more addition to the good memories I have made here.

That evening, we played some more sand volleyball with different people from the neighborhood and ministry. This has become one of my favorite things to do!

In other news, I’ve decided to do another contract before returning to Rio! The commute plus the gas prices plus driving the Jeep has made for a lot of my income to be siphoned towards gas money, not allowing for as much funds to be saved as I’ve been able to with previous contracts.
So, I’m beginning to explore options on the next contract to take and will update accordingly!
