6/13- People, People Everywhere!

As I reflect on the past week, I see a common thread: people. And I love that!

People are the biggest part of why I chose to take a contract in Raleigh, why I choose to live in Fayetteville, what I fill my schedule with, etc.

As an extrovert, it’s easy to enjoy time around people. As someone who loves and is following Jesus, it’s exciting to engage with people. So, I’ve found these past weeks to be a really great time of interacting with, learning from, and savoring the company of…you’ve got it: people!

After work Monday evening, Hilary hosted dinner and a Bob Ross paint night! She fed us fish tacos and her friend, Megan, made homemade guacamole!

We all followed a Bob Ross video and painted along with it. We were pretty critical of ourselves in the beginning, but in the end, they didn’t turn out too bad!

I loved that even though we were all watching the same video, our paintings all turned out a little different!

It was great getting to meet new ladies and to grow closer with those I already knew!

Saturday was an absolute blast of a day!

We started the day by attending a baptism of three people, hosted by one of the other chapels at a local lake!

Two people from our own chapel, Marcelo and Brianna, followed up those baptisms with their own rededications of their faith! They wanted to use baptism as an outward sign and public proclamation of a recommitment they were making to the Lord!

Afterwards, Natalee, Brianna, and I went to go pick up my Jeep and celebrate Brianna’s baptism by taking her out to First Watch. It was Brianna’s first time going and she was so excited!

We went straight from there to the neighborhood sand volleyball courts, where a group from the baptism all met up for games!

I loved getting to meet new people while playing a sport I thoroughly enjoy!

After a couple of hours, a few of us cooled off at the local pool, then got back on the courts for a few more games!

It was a full day, but also a really fun one!
