2/13- Friends and Fun!

Another week has come and gone! Making note of the time week by week seems to make it go by so much more quickly!

This week was my first of going solo at work! It felt great, but I was also thankful for co-workers continuing to check in and make sure I was doing okay! This week was also unique in that Wednesday and Thursday were both half days! Wednesday, I worked the morning and Thursday, the afternoon!

Though making the full drive for a half day wasn’t awe-inspiring, I really appreciated getting to sleep in one day and getting to spend time with the Allen’s on both days!

Wednesday afternoon, Lauren, the kiddos, and I all went to their local library (which it’s been far too long since I’ve last stepped in). Thursday morning, I got to enjoy some one-on-one time with Lauren, which was sweet!

Tuesday night was our chapel Bible study. My roommates were sweet enough to bring dinner for me, as I drove straight there from work. It was a great night, spent alongside other believers!

Friday evening, a few girls came over for a game/movie night. There was lots of snacks and even more laughter! A couple of them stayed the night and we all enjoyed reading our Bibles and praying together Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon, I joined in with Lauren and the kids to go watch two of the kiddos’ soccer games and one’s flag football game, but they all got rained out! We still had a good time together, despite the changed plans.

The weather ended up clearing up later in the afternoon, so a group got together to play some soccer.

I was perfectly content watching from the sidelines, as soccer is not a sport I’ve found I can contribute anything in.

It was nice being able to meet more people in the community and cheer on my friends!

That evening, some girls and I all went out to a favorite spot of theirs for dinner!

I loved getting to enjoy their company over some good food!

Sunday was a full, but good day! I tend to get a manicure and/or pedicure only once or twice a year and decided to get mine in for 2022 on Sunday, in preparation for a trip to the Outer Banks with my roommates next weekend!

For Sunday lunch, we went to a cookout, which was hosted by a soldier that’s been coming to the chapel Bible study. He is from Georgia (the country) and his family and friend came to visit him, so he invited us to come meet them! They served us several Georgian dishes, which were all delicious!

It was awesome getting to learn about a different culture and country through people who once called it home!

Meeting new people didn’t stop there though! Dinner that evening was a celebration of another solider who had just returned from a stint away for SERE school. His parents came over and we all got to get to know each other over some delicious food.

There are some exciting trips/visits on the calendar in the coming weeks and I can’t wait to share them with you all!
