We have traveled 1,754 miles so far! Isn’t that incredible? Big Booty Judy (my beautiful 2014 Nissan Rogue for any new peeps to the blog) has been a one tough cookie, especially in today’s conditions!

While there hasn’t been snow or rain, the wind on today’s piece of the trek was knarly! Gusts of 70+ mph winds were our constant traveling companions, pounding on us as we barreled down the highway.
Apparently, the winds in that area can get so powerful, they can toss semitrucks and RVs off of the road! To prevent this, they will pull over onto the side of the road and wait the winds out, for as long as it takes!
Thankfully, Big Booty Judy wasn’t in danger of being flipped, so we just went on our merry way and took in the beautiful mountains and rock formations that traced our path!

In comparison with the drive through Nebraska, today’s view was much more diverse. One minute, we’d have the above views and the next minute…

…these scrubby fields.

We’ve been seeing wind turbine farms for the past few days, but today we got the closest we had ever been. The pictures don’t do their size justice, but trust me…they’re big.

It’s been windy Wednesday and an untraditional Valentine’s Day, but it’s also been a memorable one.
