23/23- So Long, Farewell…

“Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say goodnight til it be morrow.”

~Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare

This week has been a week of goodbyes. A week of lasts. A week of hugs that lingered and meaningful looks that meant a little extra.

On Tuesday night, we had an early Galentine’s celebration. We ate good food, heard a great devotional from Kristen, and spent the night soaking up the company of amazing ladies.

Thursday night, I moved out of the amazing Airbnb I stayed in during the extension of my contract. It was such a cozy, homey place and I’ll miss it dearly. (If you’re ever in DC and need a great place to stay, I definitely recommend this place. Check out my review to learn more!)

My last week at work was a sweet one. I got to see and scan several patients I’ve been following throughout their pregnancy, which was so special to me.

On Friday, work threw me a potluck goodbye party.

While the food was yummy, it was the decorations that really pulled on my heartstrings.

Scattered across the table were things that were appreciated about me.

(Listen, if you guys don’t already know, Words of Affirmation is my lead Love Language by a mile. So, these meant a particularly great deal to me).

I could spend all day listing all the things I am grateful for during my stay in DC. The things I’ve seen, done, and experienced. The place I got to call my temporary home. The lessons and knowledge I learned. However, it is the people I met that I will always treasure the most.

They made me feel valued, individual, capable, and ultimately, missed. They spurred me on and rooted for me in my chosen career.

I don’t know what San Francisco holds, but I have absolutely no doubt in my heart that God has gone before and provided in it sufficiently.

Yet, if He works as He did in DC, I know my cup will abound in an overflow of undeserved blessing.

(Weekly Updates will begin back on February 26th, as I am taking a mini-vacation between the end of my DC assignment and the start of my San Francisco one. However, some posts are on their way until then, so keep an eye out!)
